Luis E. Roman De Jongh was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, where he began his baseball journey playing Little League. He graduated from Klein Oak High School in Houston, Texas, earning First Team All-District honors as a shortstop.
He became a Double A champion in 2016 with the Bravos de Cidra and again in 2025 with the Mulos de Juncos. Luis went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University, where he was selected in the 2017 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres in the 23rd round. That same year, he was named SABR Metroplex Player of the Year.
Luis currently works as a hitting, infield, and catching instructor. In May 2025, he joined K2 Training, where he is now responsible for the programming and development of the PeKes, NextGen, and all organizational camps.
He is also completing his university studies at Universidad Ana G. Méndez, pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
