Deniel Alexander Figueroa Rodríguez

Built on Discipline, Driven by Purpose

Deniel Alexander Figueroa Rodríguez was born on January 25, 2012. From an early age, he has shown a strong passion for sports, particularly baseball, where he has distinguished himself as a highly skilled and disciplined athlete.

His primary position is shortstop, standing out for his solid defense, reliable hands, range, and strong game awareness. Deniel is also a versatile player, capable of performing effectively at multiple positions on the field. In addition to baseball, he practices basketball, which contributes to his agility, coordination, and overall athletic development.

Deniel currently attends Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola, where he is in ninth grade, and resides in Cidra, Puerto Rico. He is the oldest son of Nicolás Figueroa and Nilsa Rodríguez and takes pride in his role as a responsible older brother.

He has been part of the Tornados Baseball Organization since the age of four, where he has developed strong fundamentals, discipline, and a competitive mindset. His performance earned him selection to the Puerto Rico National Team (12U) in both 2023 and 2024.

In 2023, Deniel competed in the Cal Ripken 12U World Series in Missouri, where he was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in one of the games. In 2024, while representing Puerto Rico once again, he served as the winning pitcher against Venezuela, demonstrating composure and confidence under pressure.

That same year, he was also a member of the Puerto Rico Pony Baseball 13U National Team, which achieved World Runner-Up, and was part of the Puerto Rico Champion team in the American Congress.

Deniel’s greatest inspiration is his father, a former Doble A baseball player and his long-time coach, who has played a key role in shaping his athletic and personal development. At the professional level, Deniel looks up to Francisco Lindor as a role model for his defensive excellence, leadership, and passion for the game.

Coaches and teachers describe Deniel as a responsible, respectful, and determined young athlete with an outstanding work ethic. His defensive strength, versatility, quiet leadership, and consistent commitment reflect a player with a very promising future.
