Alex Javier Ríos Arill

Born in Chicago on May 1, 2010, Alex J. Ríos Arill is the younger of two siblings. While his 17-year-old sister wants nothing to do with sports, Alex found his passion early—at just four years old—when he began playing baseball with the Astros de Barrio Río in Guaynabo in the 5–6 division. From that moment, the game became more than a pastime—it became his identity, his purpose, and his journey.
After his early years with the Astros, Alex continued his development competing with several teams, including the Blue Jays de Sonadora, Amelia de Cataño, Warriors de Carolina, and Midland PR, gaining valuable experience at each stage of his growth as a player.
Throughout his childhood, he explored other disciplines—including soccer with the Surf club in Torrimar, karate, and music—each contributing to his athletic and personal development. Today, he plays volleyball at school purely for fun, but everything else in his routine is intentional and centered around one objective: training relentlessly to achieve his baseball dream.
Growing up watching his father, former Major League Baseball player Alexis Ríos, compete at the highest level sparked a deep motivation within him. Along the way, Alex developed his own inspirations, identifying Aaron Judge as his favorite player, drawn to his work ethic, leadership, and presence on the field.
His competitive experience extends beyond local play. In 2023, at just 13 years old, Alex represented Puerto Rico in the World Series Major/70 held in Branson, Missouri, competing in the Cal Ripken Baseball Babe Ruth League. More recently, in August 2025, he earned a spot on the Puerto Rico Under-15 National Team, selected to represent the island in the U15 Pan American Pre-World Championship in the Dominican Republic.
Every throw, swing, and training session reflects years of discipline, sacrifice, and purpose. Wearing a jersey with his name is more than family pride—it is a daily reminder of the legacy he is building and the standard he demands of himself.
Proudly carrying the Ríos name, Alex stands not in anyone’s shadow, but in his own rising light—focused, driven, and determined to shape a future defined by effort, passion, and a clear vision for the game he loves.
